We found these little critters in a window well after a much-needed lawn mowing. We had no idea there was a rabbit nest on the side of the house and I'm guessing the lawn mower scared the you-know-what out of them. They stayed there for one day. When it became apparent that they weren't going to get out on their own and their mother was nowhere in sight, we put a plank in there as a ramp for them. They stayed in there for one more day. We contemplated things: do we adopt them? Take them to a refuge for wild animals? Feed them? As cute as they are, I really just wanted them to leave so they wouldn't eat the garden. Stay tuned to see what happens.

  1. We have wild rabbits living all over our neighborhood.... I find them hanging out under our shrubs and the real thick trees behind our alleyway. It's crazy how well they have adapted to living among humans.

How sad that these two seem to be stuck there. Can you put gloves on and pick them up and carry them to a wooded area near your home? Maybe that's where the mom is?
